A new venue dedicated to film and video.

A liminal space between gallery and cinema, Screen presents a programme of single-screen artists’ film and video, promoting dialogue around the ways in which artists work with the moving image and the screen.

CIRCA Screen is located on the ground floor of The Place, which is a 2 minute walk from Sunderland Station. (Trains & Metro every 10 minutes from Newcastle and Gateshead. Journey time 20 minutes.)

CIRCA Site

Site presents a series of temporal off-site projects that extend the dialogues set in motion at CIRCA Screen. Site explores how artists continue to work with lens-based art forms while also engaging with three-dimensional space, blurring the distinctions between artistic practices and ways of working.
